Sundus Mohamed

Sundus Mohamed, the founder of Nurturing Minds Therapy Center, holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Services Management from the University of Minnesota and is currently pursuing her MBA at St. Catherine University. Her advocacy for mental health, particularly for individuals on the autism spectrum, began during her undergraduate years.

Early in her career, Sundus gained hands-on experience in various mental health settings, allowing her to witness the challenges and strengths within the community firsthand. This experience solidified her dedication to making a meaningful difference. Sundus's passion led to the establishment of Nurturing Minds Therapy Center, where she and her team provide personalized ABA therapy and support. Their goal is to empower individuals on the autism spectrum to reach their full potential

David Burton

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in mental health, David. B is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) specializing in providing comprehensive therapeutic services to both adults and children. With a profound commitment to supporting individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges and deficits. Through a client-centered approach, he strives to create a safe and inclusive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. David is also skilled at addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, behavioral intervention. Recognizing the unique experiences and systemic challenges faced by individuals, he integrates culturally responsive practices into therapy sessions to ensure that each client feels seen, heard, and valued. David has developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs of children with ASD, coupled with a robust set of skills and strategies to support their development and well-being.
Over the years, David has worked in various settings, including universities, community mental health centers, private practice, and non-profit organizations. This diverse background has equipped him with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the importance of tailored interventions. David holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and continually seeks to enhance his skills through ongoing professional development and training. As a compassionate and empathetic therapist, he is dedicated to empowering clients to achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being.

Angella Lee 

With over a decade of dedicated experience in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Angella. L is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children with ASD and their families. She is driven by a deep passion for understanding and supporting individuals with unique developmental needs. Angella has honed her skills in applied behavior analysis, developing and implementing evidence-based interventions tailored to each child’s specific needs. Utilizing ABA techniques to promote positive behaviors and mitigate challenging ones, with personalized plans that respect the individuality of each child. She is proficient in the use of Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and other augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems to support non-verbal and minimally verbal children. Angella strives to create and maintain sensory-friendly environments that help children manage sensory sensitivities, enhancing their focus and engagement.

Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of working with numerous children, helping them achieve significant milestones. From enabling non-verbal children to communicate their needs effectively to assisting in the development of crucial social skills, her work has led to many rewarding successes. She is committed to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest research and techniques in the field of ASD. Her approach is continually refined to incorporate the most effective and compassionate strategies, ensuring that each child she works with receives the highest standard of care.
